ABOUT US

The Toronto hyperbaric Medicine Symposium started as a celebration signifying the introduction of novel clinical hyperbaric environments to North America. The occasion was the commissioning of a state-of-the-art multiplace chamber specifically suited for use as a clinical environment due, in part, to its rectangular shape installed at Toronto general Hospital in 2006.

The 2006 THMS was a success, drawing an international audience to discover the opportunities such technology affords. Clinicians with expertise in applying this new technology from Australia and Europe shared their pearls of clinical knowledge and of the way we may soon see surgeons and physicians utilize pressurized environments to help a wider range of patient needs.

Key to the festivities was the world’s foremost researchers in clinical hyperbaric medicine who presented their original work stirring curcial debate on frontiers which are steering the work of clinicians in the medical field in several new and exciting directions.

Back by popular demand, we are honored to continue the THMS for its 2nd year to further explore a number of pressing topics of importance to those newly introduced to the clinical hyperbarics and seasoned providers alike. I welcome new faces & old friends for more in-depth discussions, in both formal and more relaxed settings, to stimulate further international collaborations and shape the clinical practice of hyperbaric medicine for years to come.

Don’t miss this one of a kind opportunity! See you in Toronto this Autumn!

Sincerely,
